To all the militiary, below is what I am familiar with:
"Mom, why do we have to move........again? I heard this refrain over and over during the course of my husband's Navy career. On the positive side, we did live in some wonderful places - Hawaii, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New Orleans, Virigina & Washington DC area, and even London England. And on occasion, we did live in government quarters. But for the most part, each move involved selling a house and buying another. Then making that house our "Homeport" - until the next set of orders. However, we always knew that we wanted our final home to be where we started our family, in beautiful Charleston, South Carolina.
My lessons learned from a dozen moving experiences have provided me an understanding and sensitivity to what you will face buying and selling your home. From realizing your 'needs' - area schools, easy communte to work, neighborhood, number of bedrooms........to prioritizing your 'wants' - granite countertops, hardwood floors, two car garage, marsh view ...........................
